Our Senior Living Expertise

The contemporary market offers a variety of choices when it comes to senior living alternatives. Following are descriptions of the broad continuum of senior living projects that the Vantage Advisory Group is qualified to support.

Independent Living

Independent Living Communities are designed to provide a supportive environment for seniors who want to maintain an independent lifestyle, but prefer to be in surroundings that offer ready support when needed. An independent living apartment typically offers one, two or three bedrooms, and a full kitchen. The community setting may offer one or more meals as an option to cooking. Other amenities usually include transportation, wellness services, and wellness monitoring. In this supportive environment, independent seniors can enjoy a lifestyle filled with recreational, educational and social activities.

Assisted Living

Assisted living provides seniors with a residential setting in which to enjoy quality of life while receiving personalized supportive services and care in a home-like atmosphere. Assisted living services include 24-hour monitoring and personal support with activities of daily living, nutritious meals and snacks, a fully maintained building usually outfitted with safety and emergency systems, a range of social and educational activities, and wellness services tailored to promote the quality of life of the individual. Assisted living is license and regulated by state governments.

Dementia Care

The typical dementia care neighborhood is designed to allow residents with severe memory impairment the opportunity to function at the highest level possible, while including safety features such as secured exits that prevent unsafe wandering. Effective dementia care is based on person-centered care tailored to the abilities and changing needs of each resident. Beginning with a comprehensive assessment and care plan based on the resident’s abilities, strategies for addressing behavioral and communication changes can be developed. Appropriate staffing patterns can be developed with staff specially trained in dementia care strategies, and daily activities designed to enhance quality of life for each resident. Many states have developed policies specifically to regulate dementia care.

Skilled Care/Rehab

A Skilled Nursing Facility or SNF, has Licensed Nurses and Certified Nurses’ Aides who help provide 24-hour care to people who can no longer care for themselves due to physical, emotional, or mental conditions. A licensed physician supervises each patient’s care and a nurse or other medical professional is always on the premises. Most nursing homes have two basic types of services: skilled medical care and custodial care.

Skilled medical care includes services of trained professionals that are needed for a limited period of time following an injury or illness. Skilled care may also be needed on a long-term basis if a resident requires injections, ventilation or other treatment that requires 24-hour monitoring by licensed medical personnel.

Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC)

Continuing Care Retirement Communities (CCRC) are residential campuses that provide a continuum of care -- from independent living to skilled nursing care, all in one location.
